Hotel Horizons® is a series of periodic hotel forecast reports that analyzes the historical and expected performance of the U.S. lodging markets. Driven by an econometric forecasting model developed under the leadership of Dr. Jack Corgel, the Hotel Horizons® reports cover five years of supply, demand, occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR for 50 major U.S. markets, as well as six national chain-scale segments. Within each market forecast, separate estimates are prepared for the full-service and limited-service segments.
Unparalleled Rigor, Precision, and Confidence
The Hotel Horizons® forecasting approach incorporates established econometric techniques. Historical lodging performance data from Smith Travel Research and PKF Hospitality Research is supplemented by economic data from Moody’s Economy.com to serve as the basis for the forecasts.
Multiple Market and Segment Coverage
The results of the Hotel Horizons® forecasts are published in quarterly reports for each of the 50 markets. In addition, a national Hotel Horizons® report is prepared on a quarterly basis that summarizes our outlook for the entire U.S. lodging industry, and provides insights into the performance of each of six chain-scale segments (Economy, Midscale With F&B, Midscale Without F&B, Upscale, Upper-upscale, Luxury). These reports contain five years of forecast data and five years of historical market performance information. In 20 select markets, five years of historical data is provided for the major submarkets within the MSA. A variety of economic, demographic, and other benchmarking statistics appear in the reports to provide the reader with a deeper understanding of local market conditions.
