Christopher Kraus, MAI, is a Senior Vice President in charge of the Bozeman, Montana office. Prior to opening the Bozeman office, Mr. Kraus was a Vice President in the San Francisco office for six years. His areas of expertise include market feasibility studies, appraisals, asset management, and operational planning for a variety of hospitality products. In addition, Mr. Kraus has extensive experience in the timeshare and vacation ownership industries as well as with condo hotels. His consulting engagements include hotels, mixed-use resorts, conference centers, and golf courses and he has completed assignments throughout the U.S. and in Mexico.
Recent assignments have included the market feasibility analysis for a 500-room convention center hotel in downtown Sacramento that was collateralized by a $90 million bond offering. He was also part of the team valuing the Pebble Beach Company, a complex of three hotels and four golf courses, for the Bank of America, the lender on an $800 million acquisition. He has appraised more than 100 full and limited-service hotels and resorts throughout the U.S. and holds a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License in the States of California, Montana, and Wyoming.
Prior to joining PKF Consulting, he was a General Manager for Winegardner and Hammons, Inc., a major hotel management company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a frequent guest lecturer at university-level hotel school programs and related industry events and is often quoted in hotel industry news publications regarding lodging industry trends. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and is an Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute.
