Chris Kraus, MAI, is a Senior Vice President at PKF Consulting. He heads the Bozeman, Montana office and is co-leader of the San Francisco office. Mr. Kraus holds a Bachelor's of Science degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and received his MAI Designation from the Appraisal Institute in August 2008. He maintains Certified General Real Estate Appraiser’s Licenses in California, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, and Colorado.
With more than 20 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, he offers expertise in complex valuation assignments, purchase price allocations, market and economic feasibility studies, litigation support, property tax appeals, asset management, and operational planning. His consulting engagements include hotels, mixed-use resorts, conference centers, golf courses, and ski resorts and he has completed assignments throughout the U.S. including Hawaii and Alaska, as well as in Mexico and Bermuda. He has worked closely with public REITS, private equity firms, all major sources of debt financing, and numerous municipalities and public agencies.
Prior to joining PKF Consulting, Mr. Kraus spent five years as a General Manager for Winegardner and Hammons, Inc., a leading hotel management company based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a frequent guest lecturer at university-level hotel school programs and related industry events and his insights regarding lodging trends are often quoted in industry publications.
