Kannan Sankaran is a Vice President in the Washington, DC region office of PKF Consulting. His areas of expertise include market, financial, investment, consumer preference research, facility design, valuation, economic impact, and operational analyses. Mr. Sankaran has used the aforementioned skills to conduct market feasibility, appraisal, impact, operational, and other studies. His projects have involved a broad range of hospitality/recreation industry facility types including hotels, conference/convention centers, resorts, golf courses, mixed-use residential components, food and beverage outlets, membership clubs, bowling centers, youth/teen/community centers, marinas, and various other income-producing real estate. Mr. Sankaran has undertaken assignments in locales throughout the Americas and parts of Asia.
In addition to leading study teams on several dozen public and private sector engagements in the hospitality/recreation industry, Mr. Sankaran has been a Project Leader for the firm’s federal government consulting practice headquartered in the Washington, DC region office on dozens of project validation assessment studies for the various branches of the United States Department of Defense.
Mr. Sankaran holds a Master of Tourism Administration (MTA) degree with a concentration in International Hotel Management, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a concentration in Finance, from The George Washington University’s School of Business. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the school’s graduate-level classes, and has contributed to the firm’s monthly and annual Trends in the Hotel Industry publications.
